We Open-Sourced Our Claygent Alternative

This weekend, I open-sourced our Claygent alternative.
Quick context.
Claygent is Clay's AI agent. It reads company websites and pulls structured data. Pricing, products, team, news.
We use it for market research. Knowing who to sell to and what they care about.
Without it, cold emails land in spam. Replies never come.
Claygent runs about $0.005 per company. At 50K companies, that's $200 per batch.
Our version runs on your laptop. $0.
Stack:
1. ddgs for DuckDuckGo search, no API key
2. crawlee-python from Apify for crash-safe crawling
3. trafilatura for clean content extraction
4. SQLite for resumable checkpoints
5. sentence-transformers for gap detection
Input: CSV of companies. Output: one markdown file per company. Ready for Claude Code or GPT to turn into briefings.
This is version 1, and if you're a geek, I'm sure you can use it as a baseline to build a production-ready version 2.
